pretty gift wrap

October 28, 2010

Some of our favorite stationery companies are coming out with really great gift wrap these days.

Including Egg Press with their fun patterns.

Smock Paper always has great options and we love that its 2-sided!

And Cavallini & Co. We love this vintage-inspired child’s play gift wrap!

Pretty gift wrap like these is a great (and affordable) way to add to your decor.

felt decorations

October 27, 2010

We stumbled upon these fantastic handmade felt decorations over on The Violet Hours.

Are these not the sweetest little invitations?

We love the birthday hat and we especially love the ribbon for big brother – such a sweet and cute way to remember a sibling!

real party: sweet shoppe party

October 26, 2010

Bridgett of Perideau Designs threw the sweetest party (literally!) for her little one recently.  We love the pink and green color combo  and the all of the perfect little details.  We would expect no less from a stationery designer!

Bridgett offers these favor bags in her shop.  Aren’t they great?

We always love the idea of boxed lunches.  A great way to prepare in advance and with cute containers like these, it makes a great presentation.

Thanks, Bridgett, for sharing!  And hope Kendall had a sweet third birthday.

easy pumpkin decorating

October 25, 2010

We spotted these glam pumpkins over at one of our regular blog reads, Could I Have That, and just love the idea.  Super simple but fun and cute!

All you need is a little spray paint and pumpkins.

This one is our favorite and I have a feeling we’ll be chalkboarding up some pumpkins at our house this week.  Brilliant!

October 22, 2010

We can’t believe the holidays are around the corner but if you’re like us you’re starting to think about your holiday cards.  If you’re planning to include a photo here are some fun ways to “style” your child’s photo.

Select a fun and unique location!

Select clothing with solid pops of color or large patterns.

So fun … and thank you Virginia Sara Ernst for sharing these fantastic photos!

parties from the bookshelf: fantastic mr. fox

October 20, 2010

Roald Dahl’s stories are always quite quirky and deliciously entertaining.  Fantastic Mr Fox is no exception. Since the main character is a sly fox who wears a corduroy jacket (well, at least according to Wes Anderson) it only seemed fitting that fall would be the setting for such a party based on the book.  Think warm colors, felt and houndstooth.

Love this, Melanie!  Perfect for Autumn!

Sources: card from Sweet Harvey, garland decal, bow tie, chocolate cake, fall garland, felt fox, foxy tea towel, wooden tags, felted acorns

real party: stripes + scales

October 19, 2010

This week’s party comes to us from Allison, a letterpress designer and owner of Bird Dog Press.  For Allison’s son’s 4th birthday they came up with a theme of fish, scales, stripes, splashes and more.  Lots of fun for kids big and little!

A picture-perfect creekside location.

Lots of fun activities + gummy worms as prizes!

Gyotaku means “fish” “rubbing” and is the Japanese art of fish printing where fisherman would record their catch of the day.  The kids took this to heart and createed their own fish art.

As a grand finale they sailed little wooden boats.

What a sweet and perfect party!  Thanks, Allison, for sharing.  Lovely photography by Julia Vandenoever Photography.

abc!

October 14, 2010

We spotted this ABC party over at Design Mom and we just love this idea using the food to create the alphabet and then eating it.  How fun for everyone!
