bike party

January 24, 2011

A reader asked us if we had any fun ideas for a bike party — and you bet we do!  Here are a few fun things we thought of for a neighborhood party.

1.  Set up a route and make (or buy – image above is from Etsy) signage indicating the route

2. Make or buy bike flags to decorate each child’s bike

3 + 4.  Ask the guests to bring their bikes and helmets

5. Make a fun map of the bike trail/course [image from here]

6. Bike cupcakes!

7. Make or buy streamers to decorate each child’s bike (if you make, this would be a fun party activity and this DIY tutorial seems easy enough!)

8. Bike horns as favors

9.  A t-shirt for the birthday boy/girl (we also love the bike stickers from Little Lark)

Thank you so much for posting this for me!! I wasn’t sure how to make this all come together, but I’m going to do it. I love the idea of the streamers and horns as favors, too. Plus, love the idea of mapping the path. Great, great, great help for my 7-year old’s birthday in March!
