surprise santa hats

December 16, 2010

I made these “surprise Santa hats” last year for our son Ike’s pre-school class and the kids had so much fun with them that I’m making them again for this year’s holiday party. They’re super easy and a fun holiday activity for little ones, so I thought I’d share here.

Here’s what you need:

You can download a party hat template like this one and then cut your paper out and staple. Then just start wrapping your crepe paper around the hat stuffed with little treats + trinkets. We inserted stickers every few wraps.

Then top your hat with a cotton ball or cotton pad and glue or tape the trim with felt.

Done! And ready for unraveling!

My name is Amy Schellenbaum and I work for the online team at Country Living magazine. I’m working on an online feature called “10 Ways to Make the Kid’s Table Fun” and would love to include your suprise santa hats idea.

If you agree, we would link to your blog on CountryLiving.com and promote the feature to all of our Facebook fans and Twitter followers. All that we would need from you is a hi-res image of the project and your permission to link to the blog.

My deadline for this is extremely tight, so if you could at least let me know about participating ASAP, that would be really appreciated. My email is ACSbaum@gmail.com.

Thank you,
