We’re excited to share with you the birthday party of Liz Banfield’s daughter, Charlotte. Liz is by far one of the most inspiring and talented photographer’s we know and we loved seeing her capture her daughter’s sweet party!
The scene: a “half” birthday for Charlotte. Charlotte’s actual birthday is the day after New Years…and since it’s not a great time of year to have a party, they decided to make it a tradition that her party will be in the summertime…so fun and clever!
Liz created a sweet atmosphere by using a lot of color and hand making a lot of the details. Party hats were crafted by tracing the pattern of a plain hat onto decorative paper. Hot glue, feather boa fringe and a feather on top, topped it all off! Simple but colorful invitations were from Target. To add a little more sweetnees, Liz filled jars with colorful candy.
The super cute garden cake was by Wuollet Bakery.
DIY party activity: Little friends gathered and made booklets about themselves using Kolo albums. Liz took a picture of each child and printed them up on the computer for the cover. They also took silly pictures with wigs and glasses for interior pictures of the book and then a second set of prints were cut out of everyone’s faces to make a chain of friends. The kids cut out paper to make “outfits” for themselves. And then scrunched up tissue paper to make flowers (we LOVE this!).
Liz used simple but festive tissue pom-pom (via Martha Stewart for Wal-Mart pom-pom kits) and tissue flowers to add a final touch.
Thank you, Liz, for sharing Charlotte’s half birthday with us!
